Vinoble 2014, Sicilian sweet wines on the catwalk

Natural, fortified and sweet wines, produced in Sicily, will also be present at Vinoble. The International Exhibition of Noble Dessert Wines which takes place every two years in Spain, precisely in Jerez de la Frontera. IRVOS will in fact be present with an institutional stand where it will be possible to raise awareness and promote the world of Sicilian dessert wine. “After all, it is our objective – comments the general director of the organisation, Lucio Monte – to promote knowledge of Sicilian wines such as Marsala, Moscato, Passito, Malvasia”.

Vinoble is a fair that attracts a large presence of buyers, journalists and industry experts. As well as there will be the participation of around four hundred companies. The event represents one of the most important exhibition and tasting spaces. A reputation found in the opinions of industry experts and those who have already had the opportunity to participate in the fair. The opening of the Vinoble 2014 Events, which will take place from 25 to 27 May, will take place in Sicily with the presentation of the wine-growing territories and dessert wines, in particular Marsala and Moscati Passiti di Pantelleria. The tasting will be curated by the oenologist Gianni Giardina, an official of the Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily. The IRVOS space will also feature Moscato di Siracusa, Moscato di Noto, Malvasia delle Lipari and some particular dessert wines obtained from the drying of the most famous Sicilian black grape variety, Nero d'Avola. Just as there will be some experimental dessert wines resulting from the research of the institution's laboratories. “Participation in the event – concludes Monte – was shared with the city of Marsala, Città del vino Recevin 2013”. The latter city has handed over the baton of European City of Wine to the city of Jerez De La Frontera.
