Vinitaly 2012 – Taste & Buy

tastebuyIn this article you will find the program and module of “TASTE & BUY – SICILY 2012”. We therefore ask you to read this document carefully and, if interested in participating in the event, to duly fill in the attached form.

It is essential that companies interested in the event send the forms attached to this document to the Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily no later than Friday 3 February, duly completed.

We would like to point out that the official language during appointments is ENGLISH. Each company will therefore have to equip itself to be able to conduct the meeting independently.

PROGRAM: The meetings between Companies and Buyers, lasting approximately half an hour each, will take place on 26, 27 and 28 March 2012, from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 14.30 to 17.30 with a break from 4.00pm to 4.30pm inside the designated area at the Pavilion of the Sicily Region, and will include tasting of the wines proposed by the companies. Absolute punctuality is recommended, and we remind you from now on that lack of punctuality will result in exclusion from the Taste & Buy.

The people in charge of the Regional Institute of Vine and Wine will be responsible for managing the room and guaranteeing the following materials and services: – 30 tables with 4 chairs each (1 table for each Buyer) – glass holders (to be placed on top for replacement tasting glasses) – half liter natural water (1 for each table) – bread baskets (1 for each table) – paper napkins – tasting glasses in sufficient quantities – name holders for indicating table numbers and Buyers names – washing service glasses – 1 spittoon – 1 bottle opener – 1 glacette (if required by the type of wine)

Since the Buyers will be seated at the tables and the participating companies will have to transport the bottles for tasting from one table to another, we recommend having a bottle rack. Once we have received the completed forms, we will send them to Veronafiere, which in turn will send us the profiles of the selected Buyers as soon as possible. At that point we will ask you to express your preferences for the meetings by numbering the Buyers in order of importance. When both parties (Companies and Buyers) have expressed their preferences, the agenda of the scheduled meetings will be sent to you by email. The agenda will be drawn up taking into account the time available, and the matching resulting from the preferences expressed by both parties (Companies and Buyers). Since this matching must satisfy a double preference criterion, it cannot necessarily guarantee that each company meets the preferred Buyers: in view of a possible future commercial relationship between the parties, the Regional Institute of Vine and Wine has in fact deemed it more appropriate to give priority to the needs of demand versus those of supply.

As already communicated, the “TASTE & BUY – SICILY” event does not include any additional costs for companies.

I remain at your complete disposal for any further information and send my warmest regards.

The Director Dario Cartabellotta
