IRVO: A journey to discover the excellence of Sicilian PGI olive oil | EVOO Day in Syracuse
Tastings and in-depth discussions on certified cultivars to showcase one of Italy's most important productions.
Saturday 6th June theoil will be at the centre of the story in Sicily, in Syracuse, with theIGP Sicilia EVOO Day for an event dedicated to the culture and promotion of certified extra virgin olive oil. A program of activities and free tastings will offer the community the opportunity to discover one of the island's most important supply chains.
The meeting will take place at 10.30 amIGP Sicilia Talk In the Post Office Hall of the Ortea Palace Hotel, the Regional Institute of Olive Oil and Wine (IRVO) will participate in a discussion on certified products and their development. Participants will include: Luca Sammartino Councillor for Agriculture, Rural Development and Mediterranean Fisheries of the Sicilian Region, Mario Terrasi President of the Consortium for the Protection of Sicilian IGP Oil, Vito Bentivegna director of IRVO, Alberto Grimelli director of the Natural Theatre, Michael Sciscioli CEO of the State Printing Office, Elio Romano director of CREA, Andrea Giomo of the Marche Agricultural University and Francesco Ferreri president of Coldiretti Sicily.
«Sicily confirms its natural productive vocation for olive growing in the Mediterranean area – highlights the director of IRVO Vito Bentivegna – It is the second Italian region for the production of PGI olive oil, and is also the third most virtuous Italian region for the production of organic olive oil. During the event, visitors will be able to admire the Sicilian PGI Olive Oil display and participate in tastings led by Campagna Amica's Farmer Chefs, allowing them to experience the guaranteed origin of their products with intense palate sensations and learn about this precious oil that tells the story of a land.

Public consultation on the IRVO 2026-2028 PTPCT update
Public consultation for the update of the Three-Year Plan for the Prevention of Corruption and Transparency (PTPCT) 2026/2028. In order to allow maximum involvement in the preparation of the update of the Three-Year Plan for the Prevention of Corruption and Transparency of the Regional Institute of Wine and Oil for the three-year period 2026/2028, all interested parties – particularly citizens, companies, consumer associations, representative trade unions, and other entities operating in the territory representing particular interests – are invited to submit comments and/or proposals to the Head of Corruption Prevention and Transparency (RPCT), which will be evaluated during the drafting of the document.
