IRVO takes center stage at Vinacria 2025: Sicilian olive oils showcased at Syracuse's food and wine festival.

The initiative, now well-established in the Sicilian food and wine scene, has represented an important showcase for local excellence, with guided tastings, masterclasses, and thematic seminars for enthusiasts and food experts.

On the occasion of Vinacria 2025, the Michele Riccobono, Director of the IRVO Oil Control and Certification Body He led the only masterclass dedicated to Sicilian olive oils, and highlighted the unique characteristics of the products being tasted: "The oils we tasted come from the companies present at the fair and are distinguished by their quality and organoleptic excellence. They are cold-pressed oils, with well-defined fruity, bitter, and spicy notes, and are the result of meticulously crafted production processes."

In this context, Riccobono emphasized the importance of the territory in the distinctive characteristics of Sicilian olive oils, despite the difficulties encountered by local production: "Growing takes place on traditional, non-mechanized olive groves, which increases production costs and represents a regional challenge. The Sicilian territory, however, is highly diverse, with production ranging from sea level to the slopes of Mount Etna. The different microclimates create oils with unique organoleptic profiles, and the IGP Sicilia certification guarantees quality, thanks to tastings by a committee and physical and chemical laboratory tests."

Public consultation for the update of the Three-Year Plan for the Prevention of Corruption and Transparency (PTPCT) 2026/2028.
