B2B NETWORKING FOR THE SICILIAN OLIVE OIL SUPPLY CHAIN IN TRIESTE
Irvo presents the island's production heritage to national and international buyers
The oils of Sicily are being tasted, for the third consecutive year, at Trieste – from 13th to 15th March – in the 18th edition of “Capital Oil” within the collective of theRegional Institute of Oil and Wine (Irvo) for the development of the olive oil supply chain and the expansion of distribution markets.
The island's excellence is represented by 20 production facilities, rooted in the various Sicilian provinces. "Olio Capitale" is currently becoming a hub for B2B meetings, attracting the attention of buyers engaged in the following segments: national and international markets who work in the field of catering, of the specialized shops, of the niche markets that showcase the finest cultivars. Sicilian varieties are numerous, from the earliest to the lateest: from the Nocellara dell'Etna to the Tonda Iblea, from the Biancolilla to the Cerasuola, from the Moresca to other neglected cultivars, the most sought-after and cultivated in small areas that transform into intense and prized oils.
Among the tastings of the Oil Bar A succession of drops of the highest quality oil, new trends are discovered, and regional specialties are tasted. Each oil thus becomes the story of a unique microclimate and an ambassador of Sicilian innovation and tradition. In Trieste, the Irvo collective exhibition extends over 300 square meters; some of the participating producers – thanks to events like this – are entering European markets for the first time. Also of great interest is the dialogue with buyers from Asia seeking niche oils that in countries like Japan They are highly sought after and well positioned.
Expanding markets for Sicilian olive oils is one of the goals pursued at events like "Olio Capitale," a perfect setting for Irvo and the Sicilian region's olive oil supply chain to seize important export development opportunities.
Among the production companies involved in this 2026 edition are the Amigdala Farm, the Pantarei Farm, Frantoi Beretta, Cunzatillu, Frantoio Mandredonne, Casa Rosa, Frantoi Covato, Casa di Grazia, Fratelli Mozzicato, Frantoio Galioto, Terraliva, Goccia d'Oro, La Mendola Simona, the Antonino Nolfo Farm, Olivoil, Sikulus, the Giuseppe Pisciotta Farm, the Giorgio Rollo Farm, Terre in Fiore, and the Todaro Oil Mill.
