Organic wine, IRVO launches statistics

vino_primo_piano
The first statistical data on Sicilian organic wine producers have been completed and communicated. This is a first picture of the current wine situation.

It was completed by the technical-information desk of the IRVO of Canicattì led by the oenologist Giovanni Giardina. “This is an important and interesting step for the island's wine sector – comments Antonino Di Giacomo, extraordinary commissioner of the body – it will in fact allow us to prepare any activities to support the sector”.

Thirty-two companies have so far taken part in this "check-up", in much of the Palermo area, followed by those in Ragusa and Trapani. The analysis also shows that most of the production is destined for bottling and that the grapes used come from the same territories of the producing company.
