Born in Sicily, starting from training
“Born in Sicily”: not simply a brand but a resource. A great and important resource from which to start to safeguard, enhance and relaunch, above all, the immense food and wine heritage and not just Sicilian ones. A heritage that embraces and carries with it the culture of a territory, its history and tradition. The new law n. 19/2013, strongly promoted by the Councilor for Agricultural and Food Resources Dario Cartabellotta, begins to take shape and reality.
Even in contexts like the one that took place yesterday, Saturday 15 February, at the Cantine Patria in Castiglione di Sicilia, on the slopes of Etna. organized by the training company Civita Srl in collaboration with IRVOS (the Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily) aims to enhance the excellence of the Sicilian food and wine heritage but also of human capital and for this reason it is part of the GIARA l The latest training plan developed by the Catania company, financed by Fondimpresa. A well-attended conference that brought hot topics concerning the Sicilian agri-food sector to the table. This sector is also a cornerstone of the island's economy. Councilor Cartabellotta was present: “All productions born in Sicily are the object of valorization of the rural development plan in such a way that the roots and identity of the foods that are generated by our land are enhanced. We need to strengthen – he added – the productive fabric and give space to the training of human capital aimed both at internationalization and at improving the reception and receptivity of the territory". The debate, in which representatives of the Etna and Alcantara LAGs as well as Pino Franchina of the OBR Sicilia Board of Directors also participated, was moderated by Fernanda D'Amore of Civita. “The role of training is fundamental – he reiterated – because the differential factor is constituted precisely by human capital, i.e. the professional culture and innovative capacity of the subjects who manage and operate in the business, in research, in public institutions, in the territory ”. Only in this way "can development be created". “The protection and valorisation of the biodiversity of the Sicilian agri-food sector passes through the declination of quality applied to companies, to the management of processes, to products – concluded Lucio Monte of GAL Terre Etna and Alcantara – Creating a system is fundamental between public structures and producers that are within the consortia" "The protection and valorization of the biodiversity of the Sicilian agri-food sector passes through the declination of the quality applied to the companies, to the management of the processes, to the products - concluded Lucio Monte of GAL Terre Etna and Alcantara - Creating a system is fundamental between public structures and producers within the consortia”. “The protection and valorisation of the biodiversity of the Sicilian agri-food sector passes through the declination of quality applied to companies, to the management of processes, to products – concluded Lucio Monte of GAL Terre Etna and Alcantara – Creating a system is fundamental between public structures and producers that are within the consortia".
