Tasting stand of Etna rosé wines
The quality of Etna rosés in Castiglione di Sicilia
“Tasting stand of Etna rosé wines: perceived quality” is the initiative promoted by the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia as part of the events dedicated to the wines and typical products of the territory scheduled between 7 and 12 August in the various City sites.
The Mayor Salvatore Barbagallo asked for the technical support of the Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily and the collaboration of Dr. Salvatore Giuffrida, by Dr. Antonio Scacco and Dr. Marcella Borzì, for the creation of an event, not open to the public, which is of service to wine companies and at the same time a preparatory opportunity for the definition and implementation of future initiatives with a broader scope.
The tasting stand will take place on Wednesday 8 August 2012, at the Castello di Lauria in Castiglione di Sicilia and will involve a panel made up of consumers and a representation of experts and journalists in order to evaluate the perceived quality of the wines and identify the specifications that determine the choice.
At the end of the evaluations, a global report will be produced on the level of satisfaction with the Etna rosé product and a specific one for the exclusive use of each company.
Furthermore, from a comparison between the satisfaction of the product tasted blindly and the same tasted openly, considerations will be drawn on how knowledge and the appearance of the product (label, bottle, brand strength) influence consumer choices.
