The events of March 2025 to enhance and make known Sicilian products

The tour of Sicilian companies continues with two stages of excellence. After participating in the FINE WineTourism Marketplace in Valladolid, Spain, it is the turn of Germany and Trieste, which are part of the strategic vision of Mediterranean positioning, as commented by the director of IRVO Vito Bentivegna: “Participation in these two other trade fair events, Trieste Olio Capitale and Prowein in Dusseldorf, responds to the programmatic intent of bringing out the Sicily of wine, oil and food and wine in the best and most profitable way for companies in the sector. These are consolidated events but the goal undertaken is to face them with a different approach where we aim to show Sicilian excellence at 360°. The fair that just ended in Spain, in Valladolid, left us very satisfied and we will certainly continue to focus on this showcase. An important event will now be the 2025 edition of Vinitaly: here too we are developing new ways of participation and involvement”.

The importance of including Sicilian food and wine in a strategic path on the territory and abroad was also underlined by the Extraordinary Commissioner of the institution Giusi Mistretta: "The fair that just ended in Valladolid, from which several positive feedbacks emerged from the participating companies, was very important because it is in line with one of the main objectives of the Institute, that is to broaden the horizon of Sicilian wine tourism. Trieste Olio Capitale and Prowein are two events already tested by the institution and represent a further showcase for the world of oil and wine of the Island".

The next IRVO events

OIL CAPITAL EXPO 2025 

Sicilian companies present with IRVO from 14 to 16 March 2025 at the OLIO CAPITALE expo in Friuli Venezia Giulia, in Trieste, to take part in an event that for seventeen years has brought together producers of extra virgin olive oil from every region of Italy and abroad. Sicily presents itself with 21 producers from the island; great news present on each station representing Sicily, a graphic that shows the important recognition of "Sicily European Region of Gastronomy 2025".

ProWein 2025, Dusseldorf

From 16 to 18 March, Sicily will then “move” to Dusseldorf for the appointment with ProWein 2025, the international fair of German wines and spirits, which will be held in Germany.

On March 17th, a meeting between Sicilian companies and international buyers, organized by ICE. During the same day, Assovini Sicilia, in partnership with IRVO, will hold a press conference at 11:30 am in hall 16/F69 IRVO, on the INNONDA project, the study on winemaking strategies for the sustainable and innovative production of Nero d'Avola wine, promoted in collaboration with the University of Milan and four companies associated with Assovini Sicilia.

Anticipation

Finally, on the table is also participation in the first Italian fair exclusively dedicated to wine tourism in Riva del Garda in the autumn.
