Tesolio Island, IRVO meeting on PGI certification

The IRVO at the “Isola del Tesolio”. The tenth edition of the entirely made in Sicily event dedicated to the world of oil is underway. It is organized by Co.Fi.Ol., the Consortium of the olive oil supply chain. It starts on Friday 16th and closes its doors on Sunday 18th September with a tour of guided visits to companies in the olive oil supply chain.

The location for the meetings organized for the three days is that of the La Torre hotel in Mondello. There are many new features this year and among these the involvement of the Regional Institute of Wines and Oils of Sicily.

On Saturday 17 September, at 3 pm, an in-depth round table will be held during which Sicilian producers will be able to discuss with the IRVO managers on issues relating to the recognition of the PGI Extra Virgin Olive Oil Sicily.

A brand created with the aim of certifying that the cultivation, milling and entire oil production process will be carried out in Sicily. A double protection both for consumers, who will thus be protected from fraud thanks to traceability along the entire supply chain, and for Sicilian producers, who will be recognized for the excellence of their oil in national and international markets.
