“Agriculture is woman”, the Memorandum of Understanding signed

“Agriculture is woman”. This is the memorandum of understanding signed in recent days and which also involves IRVO. In fact, in agreement with the Regional Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Mediterranean Fisheries and the Palermo Chamber of Commerce, the aim is to enhance the talent and skills of women in the agricultural sector. In fact, a role that has become increasingly consistent and important,

especially with regards to aspects linked to relationships and the natural sensitivity to innovations. The project was conceived and structured by the Order of Agronomists and Forestry Doctors of the province of Palermo.

To recognize and support the presence and role of women in agriculture, the idea of the "Agriculture is woman" award was born which will be announced every year in the month of March and will reward exponents of female agricultural and agri-food entrepreneurs who have distinguished themselves in a significant for social, cultural and economic growth in rural, agricultural and environmental areas. The memorandum of understanding will last three years and will be tacitly renewed. It will include a series of awareness-raising actions and initiatives to increasingly strengthen and enhance the role of women in agriculture.
