FROM SICILY TO ZURICH, A MASTERCLASS IN SWITZERLAND FOR THE ISLAND'S WINERIES
Sicily looks to the Swiss market with a new event dedicated to promoting the wine supply chain. June 16, 2026 to Zurich, theIRVO – Regional Institute of Wine and Oil will participate in an initiative B2B with the Masterclasses which will involve the Sicilian wine sector, within the scope of the internationalisation activities promoted by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Switzerland.
The goal is to promote the entry and consolidation of the Italian agri-food sector and Sicilian companies in the Swiss market through face-to-face meetings with wine and beverage professionals, with opportunities for in-depth discussions and networking with buyers, consumers, and local stakeholders.
The program includes a day divided into three parts: B2B meetings between Sicilian producers and Swiss operators, one Masterclass with around 30 industry professionals and a final moment of walking around, designed to give the wineries and territories represented the opportunity to tell their stories, highlighting the resources they offer both for wine production and for wine tourism.
«The Swiss wine culture is one of consumers with a strong sensitivity towards identity products – he explains Vito Bentivegna, IRVO Director, “Supporting Sicilian wineries in Zurich means encouraging their dialogue with a knowledgeable audience, accustomed to recognizing the value of quality production. In this context, IRVO strengthens the internationalization of Sicilian wine, promoting the island as a winemaking region of excellence and a model of Mediterranean production.”
IRVO will be present with some of the most representative wine producers on the island: Birgi Vini Srl, Madaudo Andrea Agricultural Company, Tenute Nicosia Srl, Cantina Sociale Paolini Agricultural Cooperative Society, Tenute Cuffaro di Filippo Cuffaro Simple Agricultural Company, Martinez Srl, Prosit Agricultural Company Arl and Tornatore Francesco Agricultural Company.
Thus, the quality, uniqueness, and identity of Sicilian wine will be promoted beyond national borders: a productive and cultural heritage that continues to strengthen its position in international markets.
